Replacing a tire should start with a real reason: worn tread, a failed repair, a sidewall injury, dry-rotted rubber, or damage that can't be fixed safely. If none of those apply, we'll tell you the tire is fine.
When it does need replacing, you decide how — new or used, one tire or the set.
One tire or all four?
It depends on the vehicle and the wear. On many front-wheel-drive cars a single matching tire is perfectly acceptable. On all-wheel drive, mismatched circumference can put strain on the drivetrain, so we'll talk through pairs or a set.
We measure the tread on the remaining tires instead of guessing, and we show you the numbers.
